Copenhagen- The Bike City
Copenhageners love their bikes. Cycling is enjoyed rain or shine by a large portion of the population - even top politicians ride their bike every day to parliament. Only 29% of households in Copenhagen own a car and there are more bikes than inhabitants in Copenhagen; to cover this need the city of Copenhagen provides over 454 kilometres of cycle tracks and traffic lights that are coordinated in favour of cyclists during rush hour while motorists sit in tailbacks, cyclists sweep through the city.
